Today the men of the village gathered once again, this time we talked of our progress and our plans for the close future. We had travelled all the way to the Americas. Next we try to extend our voyage all the way to East Asia.
Most men felt very proud. They believed that reputation never died, thats why many were not afraid to die in battle. Thats what i think made us all such full hearted fighters. We were sure living life to the fullest.
Everything went as planed yesterday, we traded plenty of goods and even got hold of a roman made silk dress. The tribe leaders wife might enjoy it if we had enough luck for a warm summer. That night we all gathered in the newly fixed village shack, we prayed to Thor and Oden, and some prayed to other or more gods of there own beliefs. Hopfully they would bring luck and strength to the village, so we could all get safely through the last part of this long hard winter. Tonight we asked of the gods to especially take care of Harald the newest member of the village. He all hoped he would make it especially though this harsh winter. He had already been gifted many amulets of strenght and protection. The necklace he was wearing right at this meeting was a small hammer shaped amutet, this was the hammer of the great almighty Thor.

Weapons, jewels, stolen goods, stock, food, water and about two dozen men were loaded onto the ship thismorning. We set out early so to get there at a reasonable trading time. We took currency so we could bring back silk for the villagers, stocks and omens for the village women and our newest member Harald who was born just the night before. The trip would be long and tiring, but most men would survive.

The hunt was plentiful yesterday, We celebrate our good fortune with cured meat and my favorite furmented fruit drink. At the end of the night i decided that we would continue with our rade around the coast tomorrow. Today the whole village prepares for the mens departure, all the women preyed that everyone leaving would come back safely and without disease, or failure.

The men looked forward to good traiding and raiding, and all the bounty they hoped to bring back.

Today,
the weather is nicer than yesterday. Its only -15c. Warm enough to do some shield shining, before we leave for the hunt. I'm really looking forward to tonights feast. But there was a lot of work to be done before hand. The shack had to have repares done and the meat for the fear had to be caught.
